Sign Up for the Cascade Mountain Ski Team
General Info
Cascade Mountain Ski Team is a race team. For regular ski lessons please visit www.cascademountain.com. We train and race on North Wall (black diamond) and Ptarmigan (blue). Ptarmigan is also used for NASTAR races. We strongly encourage you to sign your child up for a NASTAR race before considering joining the race team: www.nastar.com.
The season starts as soon as there is enough snow to practice, which is typically in early December, and lasts through mid-March. Race dates and the Holiday Camp dates are posted on the Current Season page.
Costs
New members, 12 and under, pay $650 their first season; over 12 years old pays $700.
The regular program has a weekday practice evening (Tuesday or Thursday, you choose) and Saturday practice.
There is extra training available for an extra weeknight and Sunday morning. We also a have USSA training program. These practice options come with additional fees.
Lift tickets are not included in the fees for the Race Team.
Each racer planning to compete at WIJARA meets must also register online with WIJARA and pay their fee. This fee is separate from the team registration fee.
Goggles and a hard sided helmet are required for all team members. Please thoroughly read the Parent Resource guide for an overview of the required commitment.
Parent Volunteers
Volunteering is mandatory!
The team fees only cover coaching fees and the use of the race course. Parent volunteers do other duties to keep the cost of the racing program as low as possible. Cascade team parents try to do as much of the non-coaching work as possible to free up our coaches to coach.
We must supply gate judges at all away races, fill all other roles at our home race and keep the Roost clean and organized. Please sign up when opportunities are available.
